Theescombe, is located on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, near Sardinia Bay, a Marine Reserve that is known for its miles and miles of sandy, unspoilt beaches and beautiful sea views. Because of its proximity to the reserve, Theescombe is an ideal escape from the city. There are picnic spots, snorkelling and scuba-diving and yet you have access to local shopping malls and two 9-hole golf courses.

Theescombe is also close to the start of the 8 km Sacramento hiking trail, which crosses the Marine Reserve, starting at Schoenmakerskop - another beautiful little seaside village with coves, rock pools and safe swimming - following the coast before returning along the top of the dunes.
