Midway between Port Elizabeth and East London, Kenton-on-Sea is one of the most beautiful places in the country - the Kariega beach was recently voted the best beach in South Africa.
Kenton-on-Sea lies between the mouths of the Boesmans
and Kariega rivers and both tidal waterways offer great fishing and bird-watching opportunities. The two rivers are navigable and sightings of the
fish eagle and little sunbird are frequent. There are rolling sand dunes, fantastic rock pools and rock formations to delight both adult and child
alike.
Kenton-on-Sea is only a few kilometres from a number of game reserves that offer malaria-free game viewing, including the Big Five. Kenton-on-Sea offers hiking trails, mountain biking, township tours and is close enough to Grahamstown to afford easy access to the annual National Arts Festival.
