The little village of Bushman's River Mouth lies just across the Bushman's River from Kenton-on-Sea on the Sunshine Coast, which stretches from St Francis Bay, Jeffrey's Bay and PE in the west to East London in the east.

Bushman's River Mouth has a calm estuary and long stretches of sandy beach, which is perfect for river and beach activities. It is also within easy reach of the Schotia Safaris and the Shamwari Game Reserve. On its doorstep too are the Emlanjeni, Kariega and Sibuya Game Reserves as well as the Alexandria Hiking Trail.

The Bushman's River offers a 22km stretch of open water and is the 2nd-longest navigable river in South Africa. The river is unspoiled, mostly due to the various game reserves along its upper stretches, and some plant species are protected in the area. Across the river, towards Kenton-on-Sea, are beautiful sheltered bays and rocky coves ideal for beach combing and snorkelling.
