Molteno is situated in the Stormberg Mountains and has become prosperous wool farming centre. The area around Molteno is extremely rich in rock paintings and many stone age implements scattered over the area. There are a wealth of semi-precious stones and numerous fossils in three nearby extinct volcanoes. Visit the Molteno Agricultural Show held here annually.
