Surrounded by Sandstone Mountains is this unique ox wagon camp where one can enjoy a nostalgic back to your roots experience. We are situated in the Eastern Free State in the Gumtree Area; 25 km from Ficksburg. This farm offers a true outdoor lifestyle environment with activities to suit almost everyone.

Accommodation is offered in 8x ox wagons and 2 rondavels, we can accommodate groups of + 60 people. We have a communal kitchen and a lapa where you can braai and enjoy a campfire. There is a hall for meetings and games and it can be used in case of rain. Guest must self-cater or meals are available for groups of 10+.

Activities are hiking + 5km trail, swimming in reservoir, volleyball, pool, kettie shoot. For groups' abseiling, wagon wheel challenge and paintball can be organized at a free.

Communal ablutions offer bucket showers, wash-up basins and flush toilets, rondavels have a bathroom with a bath. Bring own bedding, crockery and cutlery, we can supply these at a cost of R50 per person. Hoekfontein is an affordable option for people wishing to spend time in nature or as a base to explore the Eastern Free State and Lesotho.
