Heuningkrans Lodge is conveniently situated about 6km on the R393 turnoff
from the N8 between Griekwastad and Groblershoop. We are situated in the
Northern Cape Province on the foot of the Kalahari district. The lodge is on the
farm Nek, the owners stay 1,5km's drive from the lodge so the guests have a lot
of privacy. The lodge is constructed within the walls of a geographical cliff.
Where more than a century ago honey was collected. The lodge is in a very
special natural environment and the construction of the lodge is out of straw
bales, rocks and bricks. With Camel thorn logs used as pillars and design
elements. The lodge have 5 rooms with on suite bathrooms (equipped with bedding,
towels, hairdryers and fans where necessary). The lapa is the entertaining area
with the bar, lounge and diner. The interior of Heuningkrans lodge will make you
feel at home.
With breathtaking views in a wonderfully relaxed and peaceful environment this
is the ideal place for an overnight stay. We've got a beautifully maintained
swimming pool overlooking the breathtaking views of the Kalahari/karoo
landscape.
Although extensive livestock farming is practised on land we specialize in
hunting safaris and we can take guests on open vehicle game drives. A large
variety of antelope can be seen in our Game Reserve (10km drive from lodge) that
includes: Buffalo, Roans, Sable, Eland, and Springbok to name a few.
We have 4x4 routes on the farm which include a dune and rocky route.
