The Gecko Guest farm is situated in the unique surroundings of the Vredefort-Parys Dome heritage site, which has its origin roughly 200 million years ago when a giant meteorite struck the earth. The impact structure that was subsequently form has come to known as the Vredefort Dome, the oldest and largest meteorite impact site on earth. The farm is surrounded by hills that were formed by this impact. Clear evidence of human activities dating back to the Stone Age with many Sotho and Twana kraals on almost every hill can be seen on the farm. The farm offers a relaxed atmosphere with magnificent views, abundant bird life, and most spectacular sunsets. Short hiking trails, quad biking, mountain biking, bird watching and paintball, picnics beside the dam, sundowners on the hill, are just one of the many things to do the farm. Other outdoor activities such as game drives, river rafting, and abseiling can be arranged on request and are literally minutes away from the farm or simply just enjoy the tranquility of farm life.

The quest house has 4 spacious bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 people. Gecko Guest farm offers a self catering option which is ideal for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, break away weekend for friends.

The farm is situated 18km from the quant town of Parys which is fast acquiring a reputation as an art and antique hub, as many well known artists, art dealers and craftsmen make Parys their home.
