Fiddlewood Guest Farm is situated just minutes form Howick and the N3 yet
provides the perfect place to relax and unwind. We are pet friendly and welcome
responsible dogs with well behaved owners.
We offer a choice of five spacious cottages, four of which have lovely views of the lake and over fields and hills to the Drakensburg in the distance. "
Lakeside" and "Bergview" cottages each comprise one double and one twin-bedded room, both of which have en-suite facilities. There is a fully equipped kitchen / diner with open plan lounge, complete with sleeper couch for additional guests, DStv (own card
and decoder) and an open fire for those cooler evenings. "African" and "Oriental" are thatched cottages for couples and have a bedroom with queen size bed, bathroom with shower and lounge with kitchen area, DStv (own card
and decoder) and open fire. All cottages are strictly non-smoking although we do provide ashtrays outside where you can sip your sundowners on the private verandah, watching the sun set behind the Drakensburg.
Newly renovated Garden Cottage opens onto beautiful flower beds and consists of one very large bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen / diner and separate lounge which offers sleeping facilities for an additional three people. There is a TV (satellite, with own card) and a delightful, private seating area, outside.
Our bigger dam is stocked with bass for those guests that enjoy a bit of fishing. Alternatively, you may wish to enjoy our sparkling pool or choose to stroll around the grounds watching the wide variety of birds and wildlife that frequent our farm.
All the attractions of the
Midlands Meander are on our doorstep including a wide choice of restaurants, craft outlets and various activities such as golf, tree top canopy tours, quad biking and horse riding while the coast and mountains are both within an hours drive.
Things To Do
- Take a picnic and walk with the animals in the Umngeni Nature Reserve (half to full day), or visit some of the local waterfalls.
- Pick up your passport and visit Lesotho via. the stunning Sani Pass (full day).
- Spoil your senses and listen to the internationally renowned Drakensburg Boys Choir in the heart of the Mountains (full day).
- Enjoy the wide variety of crafts and eateries on the Midlands Meander (half to full day).
