Your hosts David and Susan Elston and Shelagh Bowness, welcome you to Elbow's Rest, situated in the heart of Olde Hilton Village and lying on the
escarpment overlooking the capital city of the Province, Pietermaritzburg.
Hilton is noted for its exceptionally healthy climate, and the lush vegetation
giving rise to superb gardens. Hilton has a unique and friendly vibe and on the
threshold of the KZN Midlands makes it a wonderful stop over centre
Our 3 separate self catering units at Elbow's Rest, complement the Cotswold
architectural design of the main Homestead, and every effort has been made to
ensure the comfort, space and privacy of our guests. The furnishings and
fittings blend in with the theme of the Cotswolds.
One Unit has a king size bed downstairs and two beds upstairs in a small loft
making this our ideal family unit.
The other two can accommodate one double each and a sleeper couch can make up to
the 3 bed unit. The individual small kitchens are very well equipped.
Each Unit has access to its own small fenced garden with its own braai patio.
The Units are service daily with the exception of Sundays.
Parking is on site, covered and accessed by a remote controlled security gate.
Children are always welcome.
A short walk or drive into the village, and guests will find two shopping
centres with ATM's. Banks, Super Markets, Takeaways and Coffee shops. There are
fine restaurants in and around the village.
The Midlands Meander starts in Hilton and the Ukhalamba Drakensberg Park. A
world Heritage site is only 1 ½ hours away.The Howick Falls and
Karkfloof Falls and Canopy Tours and Umgeni Valley Ranch are close by.
Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands play host to many Events on the Annual
Sporting Calendar and Hilton is closely identified with the different Venues.
The easy access to the Independent High Schools- St Anne's ,Hilton College and
Michael house is well known and the renowned State-Aided High Schools of
Pietermaritzburg Girl's High School and Maritzburg College are in
Pietermaritzburg.
Elbow's Rest is a member of the KZN Tourism Authority and the Pietermaritzburg
Tourism Association . Elbow's Rest is a 3 star graded establishment of the
TGCSA.
