Built in 1934, this double storey home with cosy English Pub is one of
Scottburgh's oldest existing buildings and is on the Historical List.
All 5 comfortable en suite bedrooms have original Oregon pine floors, are
equipped with ceiling fans, TV's and Coffee/Tea making facilities and
toiletries. There is an exclusive private balcony with stunning sea views. A
Full English Breakfast is served daily. An extra bed for the kiddies can be put
into the room whereby the kids pay for breakfast only making holidays more
affordable. It is a great stop for Commercial Traveller's needing a comfortable
bed and early breakfast. Make new friends or business partners in "The Edge Pub"
or just sit and watch the daily sports on TV.
Being owner driven there is access to DStv, internet Broadband, fax machine and
personal service.
Breakfast is included in the rate. Dinners can be organized by prior arrangement
and Snack Baskets are available in the Pub.
We have a fully equipped small Conference/Function Room (25 delegates), which
caters for business or private parties. Perfect for Team Building breakaways or
Power Planning.
Scottburgh, established in 1860, retains its small town allure and is positioned
in a low crime area. There is a security guard on duty through the night to set
your mind at rest.
We are situated in the CBD yet within walking distance to Scottburgh's main
beach with its vast expanse of terraced lawns and sandy beaches. The beach has a
tidal and paddling pool, Super Tube, beach Restaurants, beach shops and
protected bathing.
Well known for its fishing off the rocks, Deep Sea angling is an added
attraction. TC Robertson's 60h Nature Reserve offers opportunities to view over
200 species of bird, 15 species of mammals and 100 tree species. The shoals are
rich in marine and plant life and good visibility ensures lasting memories. As
well as the Aliwal Shoal (rated in the top 10 diving areas of the world) there
is Lander's Reef just off Scottburgh Beach which is perfect for deep diving to
depths ranging from 20 to 36m deep.
The South Coast is also known as the Golf Coast and is home to 10 of South
Africa's finest Golf Courses, including Selbourne. Situated along stunning
subtropical vegetation and a beautiful backdrop of the warm Indian Ocean - The
perfect setting for both the serious and leisure golfer! The Golf Coast is also
home to 5 of the sort after Blue Flag beaches.
There are fascinating eco adventures to be had: go dolphin and whale viewing -
watch Nile crocodiles being fed at Croc World, take to the skies for a
microlight flip. There are Horse Trails, Snorkelling, The Green Point
Lighthouse, Bowls and tours to one of South Africa's largest sugar Mills, the
Sezela Sugar Mill.
The local community hold a flea market every Saturday morning with a large
selection of fresh produce and really good bargains. There is a selection of
restaurants, coffee shops and take aways all close by.
This friendly region is the ideal spot to kick back and soak up the heady
atmosphere of sea, surf and sunshine.
