Ebb Tide Accommodation is situated in Velddrif, a picturesque coastal fishing
village approximately 150 km North of Cape Town, South Africa. Velddrif is
centrally situated and within easy reach of surrounding tourist attractions and
nearby towns. Ebb Tide offers you the opportunity to get close to nature,
without having to compromise on luxury and convenience.
Ebb Tide overlooks the Berg River with its magnificent birdlife, dilapidated
jetties and colourful local characters manning their quaint fishing boats.
Four stylish, fully equipped, self catering rooms with en-suite bathrooms, offer
visitors the ideal, romantic getaway, but are also perfectly suited to those who
enjoy a more energetic holiday experience. Increasing or decreasing your level
of activity at this unique location, is as easy as the ebb and flow of the
tides. Ebb Tide is extremely popular amongst visitors from abroad.
Enjoy lazy afternoons bathing in the ocean, or choose to partake in the many
activities the area has to offer, such as: 4X4 trails, walking trails, flower
routes during spring, bird watching and water sport. Visit countless places of
historical interest and see how local fishermen prepare and hang out Bokkoms
(dried fish) on the banks of the river, the same way they did a hundred years
ago. A cruise up the Berg River with your hosts, Belinda and Pierre, in a
traditional fishing boat is a must during your stay.

Four stylish, fully equipped, self catering rooms offer visitors the ideal,
romantic getaway, but are also perfectly suited to those who enjoy a more
energetic holiday experience. Guests can either make use of their own private
braai areas, or enjoy the river view from the communal braai patio. For those
cold winter nights, guests can huddle in front of the communal indoor braai.
Traditional cooking (Boerekos) can be prepared on request. Ebb Tide also has
conference facilities, laundry facilities, a Boutique and a fully-equipped
Beauty Salon. Safe parking is provided behind electronic gates (Remote controls
supplied). A variety of home made products are also on sale, ranging from
marmalades and pickles to biscuits and Rooibos tea.

Beauty Salon / Boutique
Spoil yourself with a day of pampering at Salon Belinda. The salon offers
facials, waxing and brow tints, as well as manicures and pedicures. The basalt
stone massage is a must to relieve tension and stress in the back and shoulders.
An extensive range of Environ products are also available.

for ladies who enjoy looking their best every day.
The Cut of the garments are form flattering, elegant and simple and are
available in a range of fresh and modern colours, such as soft pastels or crisp

About Us
The Hosts: Belinda de Kock and her husband, Pierre enjoy making their
guests feel at home and are eager to treat them to traditional West Coast
dishes, such as Crayfish, Snoek and home baked bread. They enjoy sharing the
South African culture with tourists and learning from them in return. The couple
is originally from Piketberg, a modest West Coast town, situated nearby Velddrif.
Belinda and Pierre purchased the old Voortrekkerstreet building (built by Bokkie
Bester, an esteemed businessman at the time) in Velddrif in 2008 and before
long, renovations started. In September 2009, Ebb Tide Accommodation was ready
for business and the de Kock's lifelong dream of accommodating visitors and
introducing them to the unique beauty of the area, came true. Belinda and Pierre
are looking forward to meeting you and your family!
The Building: The Ebb Tide building was the first modern house in
Velddrif. Before it was built some time between 1940 and 1950, the only other
houses in town, were the original fisherman's cottages. Although the building
was contemporary at the time, it was still built the traditional way, with
crushed shells, mixed with sand. Ebb Tide Accommodation was named after the ebb
and flow of the Berg River.
