"The Dwarf Chameleon" originates from the same rare animal that is seen in
their natural habitat on the farm that has become a safe haven for these shy
creatures.
Your stay at the Dwarf Chameleon Bed and Breakfast Family venue will be in a
relaxed, friendly and accommodating atmosphere, overlooking Midmar dam and the
Drakensburg range to exquisite sunsets. Relax in the ambience of farm sounds and
the calling of the infamous Fish eagle ringing out the sounds of Africa.
We have four separate units, two family units both with two single beds and a
queen, and then two double rooms with a queen and two single beds in the 4th.
Each are decorated with an ethnic feel and the mask artifacts coming from deep
within Africa of Ghana, Ethiopia and Sudan. Each unit has an en suite bathroom
(bath or shower) and is equipped with microwaves, bar fridge, toasters and
kettles and DStv, making your stay as comfortable away from home. Children are
welcome and cots are available on request. Breakfasts are a rich assortment of
continental offerings. Packed breakfast's can also be organized if you are on
the go. There are also a number of restaurants in the area which come
recommended for your lunch and dinner requirements. Braai facilities are
available on request.
We are conveniently situated 4km off the main N3 highway on the Underberg
R617 road. Pietermaritzburg is only 20km away and Howick 5km. Sporting events in
and around our area taking place during the year include the Comrades and Dusi
Canoe Marathon and Midmar Mile and numerous cycling events to name a few, with a
favorite pastime over the Easter period being the Splashy Fen festival and of
course not for the light hearted the Karlkloof Canopy Tours. A stone throw from
us is the Howick Falls and the infamous Midlands meander is always worth a
drive. There are no less than six Golf courses within a radius of 30km from
where we are.
