Dolphin Lodge is situated in the Bay of Zavora, Inharrime district about
400km to the North of the Mozambican capital Maputo. The lodge has four double
storey fully equipped self catering log houses, a backpackers lodge and
restaurant, all with terrific sea views on high lying dunes.
- House B2 (8 sleeper) - four bedrooms and upstairs open loft area, all
bedrooms have bathrooms en-suite, two with luxury corner baths in addition
to showers. Kitchen and living area with a very large wooden deck
overlooking the beach.
- House B3 (10 sleeper) - five bedrooms, four of the bedrooms have
bathrooms en-suite, two with luxury corner baths in addition to showers.

- House A10 (8 sleeper) - four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs
bathroom has a corner bath as well as a shower. Kitchen and living area with
upper and lower wooden decks overlooking the beach.
- House A9 (6 sleeper) - 2 bedrooms and open upper level loft area
suitable for additional beds. Two bathrooms (upper and lower), kitchen and
living area with upper and lower wooden decks overlooking the beach.
- Backpackers lodge A8 - sleeps 10, fridge but no cooking facilities
(restaurant in close proximity). Suitable for overnighters and backpacking
budget guests. Terrific sea views from the deck and communal outside
barbeque area. Two bathrooms, one corner bath and one shower as well as an
outside shower.
4 x 4 vehicles advisable.
Dolphin Lodge is part of the Macanza Marine and Forest Parkland
area which makes up the southern part of Praia de Zavora (Zavora Bay). This is a
less densely populated area with dune forest vegetation adjacent to Macanza
beach. The area includes the large fresh water lake Lagoa Poelela, Tsene and
Nahoutsie forests with prolific bird life and other small game such as monkeys
and small buck.
Guided tours, airport transfers and package deals from SA to Mozambique via
Kruger National Park by arrangement. Special dive tours in conjunction with our
own inbound tour company, Tsene Dive Tours Mozambique.
Activities in the area include
- scuba diving and snorkelling. Zavora bay is fresh world class diving
destination with a wide variety of marine species including Manta Rays and
Whale Sharks. The wreck of the Klipfontein, a Dutch Liner that sank off the
coast of Zavora in 1953 makes is a must for the more experienced diver.
