Experience the South African country district with "boere" hospitality in the
Free State . The Guest farm "Die Kuierhuis" is 14km from the N1 at Ventersburg,
± 150 km from Bloemfontein and ±200km from Johannesburg.
This break away Farm stay is situated on the family farm ( since 1875) where the
nostalgic of traditional farm life becomes a reality.
The restored chapel and reception barn is build with sandstone and ironstone
which were romanticized with candles and oil lamps as well as other antiques.
The safe and restful stay can be enhanced with farm activities like:
- Donkey cart rides
- Strolling in a peaceful environment
- Night Drives
- Star gazing
- Swimming
- Horse riding
- Tractor rides
- Milking of cows ( traditionally with hand)
- Petting zoo
- Bird watching
- Rowing on the dam

The food is traditional with a "twist" Guest is welcome to order nostalgic food
like "Souskluitjies" tripe, ...All meals are available on request. We also do
catering for groups (up to 80 people) in the Barn.
The accommodation is private with 3 en-suite rooms, with own Kitchenette
(freezer, coffee and tea facilities) and entrances from the "Kuierstoep". The
rooms are spaciousness and include towels and toilet requisite. A Large Living
area connects the rooms to the dining room. In winter time guests come together
in front of the fireplace or in the kitchen at the coal stove
There are two self-catering units away from the house looking over the Free
State prairies and the dam.
With the Chapel and Barn the farm is also ideal for small intimate weddings.
Also available is the honeymoon suite and en-suite indoor swimming pool.
Conferences can be done with a difference, disputes and decisions settled with
"Kleilat" wars or Kettie skiet competitions. Later everyone can relax at the
boma fires in the"“Klipkraal"
Never to forget the sun sets and the clear starry nights on the farm.
