Enjoy a unique experience of fynbos mountain treasures and tranquil days under shady oak tress and star filled nights whilst staying in this very comfortable self catering cottage.

Chavonnes Farm Cottage is on the farm Chavonnes 8km south of Caledon and lies against the north face of the Steenboksrivier mountains. It is owned by the De La Harpe family and it is a working wheat and sheep farm since 1798. The mountains providing diverse fynbos and crystal-clear spring water.

Enjoy beautiful views of the Overberg whilst taking mountain walks or biking, fishing or swimming in the crystal-clear pools. From your front porch watch the black eagle soar overhead or the prolific blue crane bird population that roam the rich wheat and canola fields. The river in front provides a prolific birdlife. Feast your eyes on the patchwork of yellow, blue and green colours the nature provides at no cost. Otherwise sit back and enjoy watching the farm life or have a long barbeque under the oak trees in summer. In winter, put your feet up and make a fire in the original fireplace. (1797)
