Conveniently located a comfortable 9 hours drive (780km) from Johannesburg is
the tranquil and pristine Praia de Xai Xai (Praia meaning beach).
Casa Estrela, set in the secure Xai Xai Eco Estate, is situated in a private and
secure enclave at Praia de Xai Xai with an 180degrees uninterrupted view of the
warm Indian Ocean.
The house has a wrap around pool deck which makes it the ideal spot for
sundowners, whilst watching the sun set. Migratory Hump Back Whales, can be
viewed from the deck, as they make their appearance from early June to October.
Mozambique is about relaxing with your friends and family. The best time to
visit is during the winter months from April to September, although this is an
all year destination.
4x4 vehicles are not necessary to reach your destination.
Facility Description
Casa Estrela is a luxury self catering split level house, designed and created
with easy, relaxed living in mind. Jeff, the houseboy, is on call for your
needs, and will see to the daily cleaning. The house can accommodate 10 people.
The house consists of 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and an outside shower. All rooms
are fitted with mosquito nets and air conditioners. All linen, including bath
towels are provided (excluding beach towels).
Bedrooms
1.One large suite with queen size bed, en-suite with bath and toilet, with
french doors opening onto patio with sea view.
2.Second bedroom with two single beds, with french doors opening onto patio.
3.Third bedroom with two single beds.
4.Fourth bedroom upstairs with four single beds.
Kitchen, Dining and Living Room
An open plan design marries the dining, kitchen and living room areas. Large
windows allow fascinating views of the ocean from all rooms.
A very large Kitchen / Dining has been fitted with granite tops, the necessary
cutlery, crockery and sufficient casserole dishes as well as a 4 plate gas
stove, microwave oven, Two upright fridge freezers, one chest freezer, one chest
chiller, dish washer, washing machine and fan.
The tastefully furnished Lounge with leather lounge suite and suede curtains,
centre towards the verandas with splash pool and built in braai, that
unashamedly stare on the beach views and magnificent ocean ahead. TV and DStv
are supplied - please bring your own smart card.
Bathrooms
The first bathroom is on-suite with bath and toilet and the second bathroom
with shower and toilet. There is also a enclosed outside shower.
Things To Do
Ocean: The house is walking distance to the beach, which is protected by a
offshore reef making it ideal for swimming, water sports and snorkeling. It is
also ideal for scuba diving, which can be booked at Montego's camp just north of
the Estate.
Fishing: A wide variety of fish are attracted to the warm waters of
Mozambique, making this coast a excellent fishing destination. Deep sea charters
can be booked at the adjacent Beach Resort. This is also an excellent
fly-fishing and "drop shot" venue. Ski boat, kayak and jet-ski fishing is also
enjoyed. A huge diversity of game fish abounds in the Mozambican channel
including Sailfish, Marlin, Dorado, Tuna and many more. This coastline is also
famous for huge Kingfish catches.

Bird Watching: For the nature lover there are bird watching opportunities
Winela Tidal Pool: Two kilometers south, is a fascinating natural
treasure, having a natural tunnel and blow hole linking the pool to the sea.
Great tidal pool for the kids to learn to snorkel, protected with great
visibility at low tide. Depth up to 6 meters deep. (Keep away from the blow hole
on top of the reef. If you fall in you will not get out)
Quad Bikes: Although quad bikes are restricted on the beach, the big sand
dunes offer great rides. Quad bike trails can be booked at the adjacent Xai Xai
Beach Resort.
