For Nature - For Exclusivity - For Adventure - For Relaxatio
Luxury catered accommodation or an exclusive self-catering getaway at Bushwillow, priding
itself on personal service
This small owner managed lodge offers guests a very personalized service,
ensuring a memorable bush experience. Set amidst indigenous sand forest in
Kuleni Game Park, a 170 hectare game reserve, Bushwillow blends seamlessly into
the bush, offering guests complete privacy and seclusion. The main lodge is a
home from home: with your personal chef in the open-planned kitchen cooking up a
meal for you in full view as you relax either on the couches or outside on the
expansive pool deck. Or cater for yourself in the lodges fully equipped kitchen.
Air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms are situated along wooden walkways amongst the
trees. Percale sheets, mohair blankets, soft towels and guest amenities provide
every luxury that is expected of a 4-star graded lodge. Complete luxury in the
bush.
The game reserve has a network of self-guided walking trails. Enjoy likely
encounters with 'safe' game whilst on foot. Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, warthog,
nyala, duiker, not to mention dung beetles and other small wonders of nature can
be found on the property. Or, just relax at the lodge in peaceful surroundings
and watch the game come to Bushwillow's own small waterhole. The abundance of
bird life, the variety of trees and other flora makes for a great bush
experience. Bushwillow is a Birder Friendly registered establishment.
Bushwillow is ideally situated, allowing for both a bush and a beach experience.
On your doorstep, find the world-renowned Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park, known for its
Big Five. Day trips to other important game parks in the area are also possible.
Enjoy excursions to Sodwana Bay, Cape Vidal, Charters Creek and False Bay to
discover coral reefs, sandy beaches, coastal dunes, mangrove swamps, ancient
sand forest and magnificent lakes; all a part of The Greater St Lucia Wetland
Park (recently renamed Isimangaliso Wetland Park: The Place of Miracles and
Wonder): the most important estuarine wetland system in Africa, and a World
Heritage Site. For the more adventurous, enjoy canoeing, horse riding or diving
trips in the area. Or for those who wish to pamper themselves, there is a nearby
spa where you can enjoy wonderful spa treatments.
This is a piece of paradise in Zululand on the Elephant Coast, a rejuvenating
and unique experience not to be missed.
The luxury bedroom units are linked by wooden walkways to a central facility
with furnishings that nurture the bushveld experience. The spacious lounge,
kitchen, dining room and pool deck create an ambience of solitude. Unwind in the
evening as one listens to the nocturnal sounds.
Bushwillow
Bushwillow Lodge consists of the main lodge and 3 en-suite bedrooms.
Main Lodge
The main lodge comprises an open plan, fully equipped stylish kitchen. The
spacious and tastefully decorated lounge and dining area with foldaway doors,
opens out onto the large deck area where you can cool off in the pool or lie on
the sun loungers in dappled sunlight. In the evening, relax and unwind. Enjoy a
sunset and night sky in the African bush. Prepare a sumptuous barbeque on the
deck area and dine at leisure as you listen to the night sounds.
The Bedrooms
Tambotie: The King-sized room (air-conditioned) with floor to ceiling sliding
windows with mosquito netting allow you to feel as if you are sleeping outside.
The quality of the furnishings, however, remind you that comfort is at hand. Let
the early morning sun awaken your senses as you gaze out of your bed into the
clearing where game can be seen grazing. The en-suite bathroom is spacious with
hand made twin basins set in a beautiful and original solid wood vanity. The
frameless shower and freestanding cast iron bath makes for a tasteful mixture of
old and new. Relax in a candlelit bath as you soak up the peace and tranquility
whilst looking out onto the bush. The small private deck area allows you to sit
out and enjoy an early morning cup of tea or a quiet evening sundowner.
Marula: Two king or twin rooms made up to your liking and separated by a
great little lounge area is perfect for families or small groups. Otherwise the
style of the room is very similar to that of Tambotie. A larger deck area also
allows for great birding or relaxation in total privacy.
Guest Comments
Had a wonderful time at Bushwillow. Feel like not telling anyone about this secret, but Bushwillow deserves to succeed. Glad we stayed in to eat (future visitors, please note!!!). Jacomie has spoiled us with super meals and service. Jabu has been a gem! So helpful and smiley! (Keith Hamilton & family, England)
Wow, we spent 4 days here and have been spoilt rotten. This stay totally exceeded our expectations. Absolutely fantastic staff and luxury accommodation. The 4-star rating gives it no justice - it should be "6-star". (Hayden & Jerri-Lee, South Africa)
A very beautiful setting and a lovely drive through the park. The lodges are fabulous. I would recommend Bushwillow to anyone. I loved the way the animals came to drink. (Mary Parks & family, Canada)
