The Ou Kliphuis is built of sandstone, solid blocks weighing between 50 and 100kgs each, requiring two men to pick up and lay a single block whilst building – a slow process! The blocks have been chiseled by stone masons of the past, a dying skill and are therefore difficult to source and match.
