During the restoration of Arum Place Guest House, great care has been taken
to preserve the wooden floors and pressed ceilings of the 1935's house.
Previously home to artisans, craftsmen and miners, Melville has evolved to an
up-market, cosmopolitan suburb.
Tree lined streets, small properties with painted zinc roofs, cast-iron brookie-lace
on patios, narrow streets, Jacarandas and the shrieking call of the Hadeda is
common in the area.
Only a minute's drive away from buzzing Melville, you can spend leisure time
amongst restaurants, coffee shops, café's, boutiques, craft and antique shops.
Easy access to the major highways.
We are extremely close to UJ (500 meters) Witwatersrand University, Wits
Business School, SABC, Media Park, Milpark, Helen Joseph and Garden City
Hospitals, Netcare Rehab Centre, IMM, SANBS, you are just about as close to the
City Centre as you can get!
Each of the seven rooms has been differently decorated with the use of damask
wallpaper and royal colors like gold, black, purple, copper and silver. Four
luxurious rooms with full en-suite bathrooms are situated inside the main house
and three self catering units are available for longer stays.
Airport transfers on request, Transfers within 5kms of guest house are free of
charge.
