Tucked away in the beautiful bay of Cape Columbine, lays the peaceful fisherman's village of Paternoster. Situated a mere 90 minutes from Cape Town, this West Coast gem offers the ideal weekend getaway.

Aloe Halt offers guests the opportunity to stay in a spacious, yet intimate cottage about 160m from the beach. Walkways ensure easy access to the beach. Relax on the patio and enjoy the birdlife attracted by the various indigenes aloes planted in the garden. The red and orange of the flowers invite the sugarbirds to visit them for their sweat nectar.

From here one can explore endless beaches, delight in breathtaking sunsets or hike to nearby Tieties Bay and the Cape Colmbine Lighthouse, built in 1936 - the last 'manned' lighthouse to be built in South Africa.

During August/September the landscape burst into color when it's flower time on the West Coast. Explore this exquisite sight at the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve or at the West Coast National Park. Whales and dolphins are a common sight whilst the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean offer spectacular diving opportunities. Fishing trips and kayaking can also be arranged.

Paternoster is well known for its crayfish (lobster) that can be bought from the local folk in season. Fresh snoek and hottentot can be bought from the fishermen.

If you don't fancy the idea of preparing your own fish, there are a 3 restaurants and a hotel, or
buy the best 'fish and chips parcel' on the West Coast at the waterfront.

Aloe Halt can accommodate 6 people and consists of the following:

Bedrooms & Bathrooms:

• There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers.
• There is a queen bed in the main bedroom with en suite bathroom.
• The 2 other bedrooms each has 2 single beds and share a bathroom.
• Linen, bath- and hand towels provided for every guest. Extra blankets for chilly nights.
• Fans for summer
• Heaters for winter

Kitchen & Living area:

• Open plan living area
• Kitchen very well equipped. Stove, micro wave oven, kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer. Iron and ironing board
• Huge fireplace
• Full DSTV.
• Outside braai area on patio. Hammocks if you want to forget about time.
• Unfortunately no card facilities.
• No smoking inside the house.
• No dogs allowed.
