Alize is a charming seaside cottage situated 45 minutes from Durban on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. Only 20 metres from the beach, a narrow strip of protected indigenous bush is all that separates you from the warm sun kissed beaches of the Indian Ocean. The small town of Blythedale (no more than 200 houses) will make it easy for you to de-stress and relax away from the humdrum of modern living.
The "Nautical" unit
The cottage has nautical finishes and white washed cottage furniture. This comprises one bedroom with two single beds. There is a double sleeper couch in the lounge so the cottage can accommodate four guests. There is a TV in the lounge with TV 1, 2, 3 & e-TV. The kitchen includes all mod cons (kettle, toaster, microwave oven, stove and medium sized fridge with freezer compartment). There is a loo / shower. There is also a small dining breakfast area.
One can either dine indoors or al fresco on the veranda, which has braai facilities and more great views.
Loungers are available so that you can enjoy the cool sea breeze whilst lying around the pool which is set in a sub-tropical garden.
Blythedale is a very secure environment in which to enjoy oneself.
Self-help Continental breakfast is available on request. The cottages are serviced daily and laundry services are provided on request. There is also a lock up garage available for vehicles.

Blythedale Beach on the North Coast
Blythedale Beach is situated 50 minutes north of Durban on the Dolphin Coast. It has excellent beaches on virgin coastline with a wide variety of flora and fauna. Large pods of dolphins regularly swim past and whales visit between July and November. There is a lagoon within walking distance, which falls within the Umvoti river conservancy, this means its abundant bird life, picturesque setting and incredible sunsets are all protected. Blythedale was voted as the best managed coastline in Natal 2 years in a row.
Fishing, musseling and crayfishing are all possible with the appropriate licenses.
Excellent shopping and dining is available in Ballito (20 minutes to the South) and Gateway Mall (40 minutes to the south). Kwa-Dukuza, site of the Shaka and Albert Luthuli memorials, is 10 minutes away and offers a bustling atmosphere in which to explore the interesting variety of shops where a good bargain is always to be had.
For those keen for an adrenaline rush there are several options available. Within close range one can find and organise microlight flights, scuba diving, hunting ,deep-sea fishing, dolphin watching and surfing.
For golf fanatics there are 5 golf courses within a 30-km range. Prince's Grant and Zimbali are both in incredibly scenic settings and are a must play for the avid golfer.
Blythedale is ideally situated to provide effortless accessibility to Natals' real gems, its nature parks and reserves. Lake Mkuze and several other private reserves. Ushaka Marine world is a stunning aquarium that's recently been open and is definitely worth a visit and the Umgeni bird park is also a must see.
