African Olive Country Estate, is a privately owned establishment situated a
mere 1 km from Parys town centre on tarred road. The estate forms part of the
gateway to the Domeland - the Vredefort Dome World Heritage site - a natural
wonder of ± 300 km in diameter, the result of 2km asteroid ( about the size of
Table Mountain), that collided with earth some 2020 million years ago.
African Olive Country Estate is situated within walking distance to the
breathtaking Vaal River and conveniently close to Parys Town and all
establishments along the Kopjieskraal road and the banks of the Vaal River.
The estate boasts 5 Ha of natural Domeland. We may not be positioned next to the
mighty Vaal River however we do have the century old Vaal River Canal passing
through the estate, offering you as our guest, a peaceful tranquil country
atmosphere. The Estate is a working farm. Enjoy the beauty of nature together
with the farm animals such as cattle, chickens and guinea fowl. There are plenty
of wild birds too, so bring your binoculars. Accommodation on the Estate
comprises of 2 x Luxury Cottages and 2 x Studio Apartments.
The 2 x Luxury Cottages include the following:
- Fully equipped for self catering.
- Luxurious air conditioned bedrooms.
- Queen sized bed fitted with cotton percale linen.
- Stunning bathrooms with bidet and comfortable bath and shower for 2.
- Spacious well appointed living area with a romantic fireplace.
- All linen and towels provided.
- Well equipped Kitchenette with mini stove, microwave and full size fridge.
- Kettle braai and patio suite
- Extra Sleeper couch available on request.
- Flat Screen TV with DSTV ( Hotel package)
The 2 x Studio Apartments include the following:
- Equipped for basic self catering
- Air-conditioning.
- 2 x single beds(king Bed) fitted with cotton percale linen.
- Sleeper couch available for extra person/child.
- Cozy living area forms part of the bedroom
- Equipped kitchenette with microwave and full sized fridge. Dining table
for 2.
- One room has a shower whilst the other has a bath
- All linen and towels provided.
Also available to guests is use of a sparkling swimming pool and fully equipped
lapa.
General Information of things to do
Parys is known to be the antique mecca of the Free State boasting 11 antique
shops and 8 Art Galleries. So whilst visiting our picturesque country town do
visit our shop Oak Tree Junction, situated at 32 Bree street (Our Main Street
through town), where you can find that long last treasure. Not only does Oak
Tree Junction, have the largest selection of hallmarked silver and Moorcroft
Pottery, the shop also houses fine pieces of collectable art, furniture, toys,
like Dinky, Antique clocks and jewellery, porcelain, enamelware, kitchenalia and
glassware. Should adventure sports be your thing, Parys has loads to offer. We
will gladly assist with your sporting arrangements. There are a number of
recommended Restaurants in town where we can also assist with reservations.
