Themba's Birding Tours conducts its tours throughout the Greater St.Lucia Wetland Park now known as ISimangaliso Wetland Park, as well as regions
further to the north in Zululand and Maputaland. The St. Lucia Wetlands is a world heritage site well known for it's great diversity of
birdlife.
Your Guide:
Themba was born and bread in Northern KwaZulu Natal along the area now known as the "Elephant Coast" (Maputaland) As such, he has in depth local
knowledge of the Zulu people, the culture, the birds, wildlife and history .....all invaluable traits for a guide.
Themba is an accredited bird guide, trained by BirdLife South Africa and operates along the Zululand Birding Route. He is also a registered member of
the Elephant Coast Tourism Association and a registered guide with KwaZulu-Natal Tourism Authority.
Tours can be arranged in the following areas:
- forests of iGwalagwal
- the Phiva campsite, including visits to Crocodile centre.
- Eastern and Western shores of the park
- False Bay
- Lower Mkhuze
- Sodwana Bay
- Mabibi
- Kosi Bay
- Tembe Elephant Park
- Mkhuze Game Reserve
- Ndumo Game Reserve
Tours should be pre-booked about 2-3 days in advance especially those of Ndumo and Tembe Game Reserves.
