Midlands House of Healing offers a wide variety of Therapies to relax, unwind, de-stress and to rejuvenate the body.
Midlands House of Healing is situated on the Midlands Meander, Caversham Road, just off the R103. Being a sanctuary for healing therapies, Midlands House of Healing is managed by Colleen van Heerden, a qualified, independent Reiki Master and certified international holistic therapist, specializing in Reiki treatments and attunements.
Colleen also does holistic massage therapies in four disciplines: Swedish massage, Sport massage, Hawaiian Lomi-lomi massage (Kahuna) and Ayurvedic massage. Aromatherapy forms part of most of the four disciplines and Colleen has a working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Reiki is Universal energy which is used to balance and energise the body's natural energy flow, on a cellular level. As Reiki benefits your physical body as well as your spiritual body, it leaves you revitalised and energised with a boosted immune system.
An added benefit from regular treatments is that you look and feel younger!
Colleen utilises the healing qualities of crystals to enhance the experience of a Reiki session, often with remarkable results.
Colleen's focus is on healing the body, mind and spirit.
Pampering, by means of hot stone therapy, is done before every massage in order to relax and ground the body, preparing it for therapy.
For relief from everyday stress, Swedish massage soothes and relaxes the body, leaving one feeling fresh and revitalised.
For the serious sports person who tends to over train, Sport massage assists the body in recuperating from training and shortens the recovery period after a hard session or game.
Hawaiian Lomi-lomi massage is the ultimate in pampering. Being a slow, flowing massage, with natural oils, warmed to just the right temperature. It has been developed to help heal emotional trauma, leaving one more open to giving and receiving love.
Ayurvedic massage eliminates toxins, and releases impacted tension, making it an ideal therapy for those interested in breaking an addiction like smoking cigarettes. A course of several sessions is recommended, depending on the severity of the addiction
Colleen has developed two disciplines of massage especially for women:
P.M.S. Massage, focusing on the lower back and tummy area to relieve tension, strain and cramps. Pregnancy Massage, a low pressure technique to reduce swelling in the ankles, hand and feet, relaxing mom and baby.
