The Butterfly Garden is one of the unique attractions of Pretoria, it's the
only free flying butterfly exhibit in Gauteng. It's a true magical place... a
place where one can come face to face with some of the worlds most beautiful and
interesting denizens of the rainforests.
In the enclosed greenhouse environment, the colourful exotic butterflies perform
their aerial acrobatics amongst the lush tropical vegetation and trickling
waterfalls. For the fortunate, be enchanted by a butterfly emerging from its
chrysalis or landing on your brightly coloured clothing.
Visitors can also learn more about the butterfly's life cycle, habits and
biology from a guided tour by expert personnel at no extra charge or you can
stroll through the garden at your own pace & meet some of the reptiles and
strange insects on display. This is a truly fun and educational day outing which
has delighted young and old alike!
The Gift Shop, dedicated to the beautiful creatures, offers a wide variety of
butterfly, insect and bird gifts, souvenirs, books, toys and more.
At the fully licensed Spiced Coffee Restaurant you can treat yourself with
delicious rosy specialties in addition to the a la carte menu. A small indoor
play area for the little ones and a larger playground outside will keep the kids
entertained whilst parents enjoy their refreshments. We also cater for special
occasions and have a venue hall available.
Tractor Train Rides every hour are available free of charge over weekends and
makes seeing all the roses on South Africa's largest rose farm seem effortless.
Thorns' n Things, our rose boutique, sells all things rosy ranging from rose
creams, oils, jewellery, bags. All areas are Wheelchair accessible.
