Huntersfield is located in sleepy Leckhampton Valley midway between Durban
and Pietermaritzburg. We are home to over 60 horses of all sizes and
temperaments. We offer outrides of 1 hour or 2 hours through spectacular
scenery. It is common to see buck, monkeys, eagles, birds and other wildlife on
the way. We also offer champagne breakfast rides and sundowner rides.
We have horses for all abilities, shapes and sizes as our horses range from
small ponies right up to huge one-ton percherons. Safety is our number one
priority and our qualified and knowledgeable instructors take pride in matching
the right horse to the rider depending on their level of experience. For the
complete novice we do an orientation of about 15 min prior to leaving on the
ride.
We also offer rides for smaller kids. This is usually half an hour lesson
followed by half an hour walk up the mountain through the forest. The very small
children have a walker at their side for the mountain ride. Parents can sit back
and relax and have a cup of coffee at the "Tuckshop" if they don't want to ride
themselves.
