Govertical Mountaineering Adventures offers you a suburb river rafting & Bridge Abseil near Hartebeespoort Dam.

Get out onto the water and enjoy a fantastic rafting experience on the Crocodile River. Our qualified and experienced river guides will kit you out, get you into the 2 man rafts and out onto the rapids in no time. The river is great even if you have no previous experience and because of the life jackets, it's not even necessary to be able to swim. The rapids are all grade 1 and 2 and suitable for everyone wanting to get out doors and enjoy themselves in the sun. There are leisurely sections of river where you can spend a bit of time watching the water birds and beautiful river. An abseil off an old metal bridge back into the rafts on the river is a great way to round off this experience for the more adventurous. (Not compulsory) Keen for a bit more hype? Ask your guide to take you to the rock jump, an optional leap into the river, a great way to round off this experience.

• All Rafting and Abseiling gear and instruction
• GoVertical River and Abseiling guides

Important Notes

• Booking is essential
• This is a half day of adventure
• We meet at 09h00 and normally finish around 13h00 depending on river conditions and group size.
• No experience with rafting or abseiling is necessary
• Life jackets are provided, however it is advisable to be able to swim
• Participants will paddle for 2 - 3 hours
• Minimum booking 2 people
• Maximum group size 40 people
• Minimum age a confident and fit 10 yrs old

Suggested kit list:

• Swimming trunks for the rafting - you will get wet in the boats
• Water tolerant shoes
• Sun screen
• Cap or hat
• Weather proof jacket or warm sweater (adventure only postponed if there's lightning!)
• Change of clothing
• Towel
• Energy snacks or drinks
• Drinking Water
• Cash for the pub
• Water proof bag for essential valuables (zip locks work fine, there will also be a waterproof bag on the guides boat, but space in it is limited)
• Leave all non waterproof valuables at home or locked in the boot of your car
