Garden Route Trail is a 5 day
Knysna in South Africa's southern Cape region known as the Garden Route.
Garden Route Trail includes walking stages through temperate rain forest, along secluded beaches and through dune forest. There are two canoe stages through wetland, coastal fynbos and forest. It is a comfortable walk with your luggage transported to the overnight accommodation in a combination of B&B's, cabanas and chalets. You are accompanied by a guide who caters for your evening meals. The trail is completed with a tractor tour, a ferry crossing of the Knysna Lagoon and a train ride back to
Wilderness.
Garden Route Trail is ideal for nature lovers who wish to enjoy time on secluded beaches or spotting birds in a variety of habitats. The trail is inclusive all walking, canoeing, ferry and train activities, 4 nights accommodation, catering, luggage transport and guiding. The trail is graded as easy to medium with walking mainly on the level with a total distance of 60km.
Group size is restricted to a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 persons. Recommended departures are limited to tidal phases following the full and new moon ensuring that the bulk of the walking is done on flat hard beach sand. Garden Route Trail is a comprehensive yet relaxed and memorable way to experience the Garden Route.
