You've never experienced fresh fishing at its best until you've caught a
Tigerfish on Lake Jozini. The Pongolapoort Lake (also known as Jozini) is
situated in the North Eastern KwaZulu Natal, bordering Southern Swaziland. It is
the southern most extremity of the infamous Tiger Fish population (Hyrocynus
Vittatus) due to our hot summer temperatures and moderate winter climate, and it
is the only waters in South Africa home to the tiger fish. Fishing takes place
from boats as the shoreline is crowded with semi-submerged trees and grass, not
to mention the large population of hippos and crocodiles on the water. While you
are on the water catching fish you can also view game because the lake and river
is surrounded by game reserves. Sightings of warthog, reedbuck, elephants, rhino
and many more species of animals as well as birds are the order of the day.
Brave Africa Fishing Safaris will provide the means that will give you the
experience of catching a Tiger fish (Or Tilapia and Catfish). We can arrange
fishing trips on the lake according to your needs. Full/Half day trips,
equipment included/your own, catering/you bring your own food. Most important is
that the guides are local and know the waters very well and can take you to the
right spot. The skippers are qualified and have many years of fishing experience
on the waters of Jozini. Our boat can take 3 fisherman at a time with more than
enough room to be comfortable.
Rates will depend on the amount of fisherman and other variables, rates on
request.
