Incredible Birding in Wakkerstroom
Wakkerstroom has long been known as the spot to see the special Grassland and
Wetland birds. (Blue Crane, Blue Korhaan, Rudd's Lark & Botha's Lark)
The BirdLife South Africa Wakkerstroom Centre manages a qualified bird guide,
appropriately named Lucky, to help you in the search for our elusive endemic
birds.
Lucky is a local community member, who was trained by BirdLife South Africa.
The best time to visit the quaint village would be from October to February
when our migrating visitors are around and the weather is warmer.
(Visit in winter if you like temperatures below -10 degrees C)
Before you come to visit, E-mail Kristi at
wakkerstroom-centre@birdlife.org.za
Be sure to book well in advance, as Lucky is in high demand.
