ADDO ELEPHANT BACK SAFARIS
Elephant Back Safari
in Addo Park Area, Western Region,
Eastern Cape, South Africa
Addo Elephant Back Safaris is situated in the picturesque valleys of the Zuurberg
Mountains, bordering the Greater Addo Elephant National Park. This area is regarded as Africa’s most
biologically diverse, supporting 4 of the 7 biomes or eco-regions in Southern Africa. The safari
experience is about learning and becoming familiar with one of Africa's most stately, intelligent
mammals - the African Elephant. It is an adventure of relaxed interaction with the elephants,
enjoying the beauty of the area and of getting acquainted with these gentle giants in a meaningful
way.
Walking besides the elephants through pristine bush, ravines and forest, will
allow you to observe their habits in their natural surroundings. The walk is not strenuous and at an
enjoyable pace. Then experience the thrill of riding Africa's gentle giants to their favourite
waterhole. Relax at our restaurant boma overlooking the waterhole and watch the elephants swim and
wallow in the mud. Lunch at this unique venue is an optional extra. As a parting gift to the
elephants you are given the opportunity to feed these majestic animals.
Walking, riding, feeding and watching the elephants swim and wallow in their
favourite waterhole makes this a truly memorable elephant experience!
We offer three encounters daily, starting at 08h00, 11h00 and 15h30. The encounter lasts for
