Are there still places on earth that feels like paradise?
Of course yes! And I live in one every day!!
And now I want to share my paradise with you, that is situated a mere 160
kilometers from Cape Town in
Britannia Bay on the West Coast.
From this upper level apartment you can lie in bed watching the waves of the
Atlantic Ocean gently unfurl. Or, from the semi-enclosed balcony, after a day of
exploring the West Coast, watch the sun set while enjoying a glass of wine.
The private entrance leads to the self-catering apartment that sleeps four: one
bedroom with a double bed and the second with 2 single beds. It also offers a
full bathroom, DSTV and a lounge/kitchenette that opens onto the balcony with an
open braai and partial sea-view (kitchenette with fridge/freezer, mini stove,
microwave, toaster, crockery/cutlery and utensils). All windows in the apartment
also have partial sea-view. Extras to make a longer stay rather comfortable is a
washing machine, iron and ironing board. All linen and towels are provided -
please bring your own beach towels.
Tortoises are frequent visitors to our garden and the Dikkoppe (their new name
is Thick Knees) nest in the undergrowth. During the whale season these large sea
mammals are the perfect entertainers when surfing the breakers almost on your
doorstep. And after the spring rain carpets of wild flowers surround you
everywhere you set foot.
For the golfer that needs to stretch legs under clean and clear skies, the
well-known and up-market Shelley Point Golf Estate with its luxury clubhouse,
restaurant, gym, sauna, spa and tennis court is a few minutes' drive from A
Breeze. For the ladies there is a hairdresser and a wellness centre for that
well-earned pampering. You can also relax in the sun next to the pool while
sipping on an ice cold drink. Day visitor rates apply.
Guests are encouraged to visit the nearby Fossil Park or take a drive to
Paternoster only 15 kilometers away (dirt road). While here, take a drive
through the Cape Columbine Nature Reserve (better known as Tietiesbaai). Other
activities include the trail through Groot Paternoster Nature Reserve,
horse-riding, walking on the beach fossicking for shells, etc (please feel free
to ask).
No pets please and smoking on sun deck only.
