in Newlands, Cape Town,

This gracious house built in 1904 has five airy rooms upstairs, two with
double beds and three with twin beds, all having tea and coffee making
facilities and TV with MNET. Linen and toiletries are provided and swimming
towels are available. Serviced daily, rooms are en suite with showers, some also
with baths: one twin-bedded room has a large private bathroom. Downstairs is a
double-bedded room with its own entrance, bathroom and small kitchenette
containing a bar fridge and microwave oven. Upstairs is an intimate sitting room
with fridge and microwave next to a spacious Meeting Room where guests are
welcome to relax, work or see colleagues or friends, or enjoy takeaway meals
delivered from a variety of restaurants in the area.
The magnificent view of Table Mountain
and Devil's Peak can be seen from the west-facing rooms while other rooms
overlook the large garden with old oak trees in which squirrels play. The huge
pool is fenced for safety and privacy. There is plenty of secure parking on
the tarmac area behind the iron security gates. In keeping with modern trends,
Abbadale is a non-smoking establishment.
Just a few paces from the door is Newlands
Cricket Oval is only a hundred and fifty metres away: cricket enthusiasts can
hear the roar of the crowd signalling a well-struck boundary or the fall of a
wicket. The equally famous Newlands Rugby Ground, Sports Science Institute and
Newlands Swimming Pool are also extremely close.
Other nearby facilities are the Vineyard Hotel, the Kingsbury Hospital, the Cape
Fertility Clinic, and top educational institutions like the University of Cape
Town, Rustenburg, Bishops and SACS.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (10 minutes), City
Bowl and Artscape Theatre (12 minutes), the
