Chalet Mews is situated 700m from St Michael’s main swimming beach and right
opposite the Shelly Beach Shopping Complex. The Ski Boat Club, where there is a
tidal pool, is also approx 700m from the unit.
This self-catering unit is in a small complex with a lock-up garage and enclosed
patio at the back which is brick paved. The front patio can be closed with a
Trellidor gate for security. All windows are burglar-proofed and the back door
has a security gate.
The unit very comfortably accommodates a maximum of 4 people, having 2 bedrooms
(1 double bed, 2 singles) and 2 bathrooms. It has an open plan kitchen and is
fully equipped with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, as well as crockery,
cutlery, etc. The unit has a very nice sea view. There are ceiling fans in the
lounge and main bedroom. There is a TV in the lounge – please bring your own
decoder and card if you wish to view DStv channels. Please also bring your own
towels for the beach.
All amenities are within walking distance, having the Shelly Beach shopping
complex 150m away. This centre has cinemas, eating establishments, a wide
variety of shops and all the banks, etc. Also, the South Coast Mall, which has
numerous shops and restaurants, is approx 4km from Chalet Mews. Shelly Beach is
approx 7km from Margate where MTN provide daily beach activities during the
season periods. The Margate Tourism also hold evening Mardi Gras with market
stalls and entertainment in the street on Wednesdays in season.
Oribi Gorge:
On windy days take a trip to Oribi Gorge (approx. 30mins drive away). Drive through the Gorge take in the sights from the top of the Gorge and visit the overhanging rock then have lunch at the Oribi Gorge Hotel or take a picnic. Oribi Extreme is responsible for the rafting abseiling and hiking in the area. Take a go on the new SWING in the Gorge - 170m high.

Whale and dolphin viewing at Shelly Beach. Shelly Beach Ski boat club is approx. 700m from the unit.
Deep Sea Fishing Charters:
Launching from Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club Deep sea fishing trips can be arranged.

Crocodile Farm:
Feeding Sessions on Sunday - not to be missed. Also available at the farm - Art Gallery craft shop and tea garden/restaurant. The Crocodile farm is just South of Margate.

Banana Express:
The
Banana Express runs daily in season from
Port Shepstone along the sea to Shelly Beach then inland. Booking can be made at the Tourism Desk in the Shelly Centre.

For those interested in Birds there is a beautiful Bird Park in Uvongo with a tea garden and nursery.
