Our holiday accommodation at Shelly Strand is a comfortable self-catering
duplex unit, which accommodate a maximum of 6 people
The Unit consists of:
Upstairs:
3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (1 en-suite) and a separate toilet. The main
bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed whilst the other two rooms each have 2
single beds. All the bedrooms have spacious built in cupboards, bedside
pedestals, reading lamps, fans and vanity slabs with mirrors. Linen and bedding
are provided, but no bath or beach towels.
Downstairs:
Open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen, and guest toilet. A patio leading off
the lounge through french doors has a built-in braai and patio furniture.
The kitchen is well equipped with electrical appliances, which include under
counter oven, 4-plate hob, extractor fan, microwave oven, fridge/freezer,
kettle, toaster and electric frying pan. The kitchen is also generously equipped
with cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The kitchen window looks out onto a
small courtyard, which contains an outside shower and a laundry basin, both with
hot and cold water, and secure under cover parking.
A colour TV is available and DStv if you bring your own "Smart Card".
The holiday apartment is situated in a beachfront complex named Shelly Strand,
approximately 100km south of Durban International airport and about 10km from
Shelly Beach has so much to offer and is known as one of the
most popular holiday destinations on the Hibiscus Coast. Although we don't have
a sea view the garden filled with sub tropical shrubs and trees creates a
peaceful atmosphere and a mere 30m walk via an electronic security gate takes
you onto the beach. 2km away is St. Michael's swimming beach, a wonderful spot
to swim, paddle a canoe, sunbathe and relax under the watchful eye of
lifeguards. Shelly Ski Boat and Scuba Diving Base offers deep-sea fishing, scuba
diving, pleasure cruises etc. Shelly Strand is close to the popular Shelly Beach
shopping mall (900m) housing a variety of chain stores, cinema complex and
restaurants. Approximately 2km there is also the South Coast Mall.
The Hibiscus Coast is a golfer's paradise with 7 professional golf courses, from
the Championship Golf course at Wild Coast sun in the south to the picturesque
Umdoni Golf course in the north. Within close driving distance there are many
other sports amenities, the Wild Coast Casino (a 30-minute drive away),
butterfly sanctuary, snake and croc parks, while abseiling and much more can be
found at Oribi Gorge.
