Kingfisher Heads lies on the banks of the Berg River where it stretches its girth before entering the Atlantic Ocean. You can even sit inside or outside the property and watch the canoes of the annual Berg River Marathon slide by. Number 14 Kingfisher Heads is a self catering flat for four adults with ease - or 6 at a squeeze - with all the amenities you may need, including linen and towels and a TV. You thus only have to bring yourselves, your food and drinks!

Kingfisher Heads 14, informally known as 'Biebie' (it used to belong to the late Dr. Danie Craven of rugby fame who was known as 'Biebie' to his brothers and sisters when still a kid), is within walking distance of the Bokkom mecca of South Africa, and within easy driving distance of various suppliers of fish, crayfish and other marine products. When staying at Kingfisher Heads you should temporarily forget about steaks, lamb chops or chicken and take up the Biebie challenge of trying out something different from the sea each day - for a week!

If bird watching is your passion there are few places that offer you more than this quarter of the world. Although wolrd famous Rocher Pan is just up the road past Dwarskersbos from Velddrift, there are usually enough birds to be seen from a hide on 'Die Pan', a kilometer or so away, to keep any amateur bird watcher or serious ornithologist happy for days on end!
