This charming, relaxing holiday home is situated high on the dune amongst the
milkwood trees, sheltered from the coastal winds. It has spectacular views of
Cloud Nine and Sedgefield lagoon, with the Outeniqua mountains in
the background. The milkwoods not only provide complete privacy to the house but
are also home to many birds, making it a birdwatcher's haven. The house has two
levels. The upper level has a great deck, which runs the length of
the house. The main bedroom (king size bed), en suite bathroom, and lounge, all
have large doors which open onto the deck. The upper level also has a second
bedroom (two singles), with bathroom, and a large open plan kitchen,
dining area and lounge. The lower level has a verandah that also runs the length
of the house, which has views of the garden. It has a lawn and braai (barbecue)
area, a bedroom, (two single beds that can be made into a double), a bathroom, a
kitchenette and a lounge, which remains cool in the summer heat. The lounge can
be turned into a fourth bedroom as it has a double sleeper couch for extra
guests. We also provide a cot for small children and babies, as well as a high
chair. All the bathrooms have toilets, baths and showers. There is a braai on
the deck.
The old-style wood cottage is set in the lovely peaceful garden. The cottage is
self-contained with a double bed, kitchenette, bathroom (bath and toilet),
sitting area, as well as a small balcony and braai area.
The house & cottage share a laundry that has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
All kitchens are fully equipped with ovens, microwaves and fridges, as well as
washing up areas. DSTV (satellite) is provided in the house and
the cottage, if you stay longer than two days. We supply all linen, except for
beach towels. We also supply a cleaning service at the end of every week, if you
are staying for two weeks or longer.
It is an easy walk to Sedgefield Village and the beach. The area is great for
water sports, with the lagoon very close to the house, walking, mountain biking,
and bird watching. Fishing on the lagoon and off the beach are popular.
Paragliding is available off Cloud Nine, and shark diving is available at Mossel
Bay.
